Have you been worrying about the fee structure of NUST, National University of Sciences and Technology? Surely the fees required to study any program there is a bit out of reach for students. But don’t lose hope. Where there’s a will, there’s away!

This article will provide you with all the details about the university’s scholarships and the government for its students. NUST does its best to provide opportunities to the meritorious students and the marginalized and underprivileged students of Pakistan.

Without further ado, let’s start with the list of scholarships. We’d suggest you keep a notepad beside you because the list is nowhere near to be called short.

External Sources

1. Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Project

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan regulates this scholarship. The students have to apply online through its portal and submit the required documents in pdf version. The best part of this scholarship is that it encourages female students from across the country to apply by reserving 50% of their scholarships.

2. Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Need-Cum-Merit Based Scholarship Scheme

PEC gives out 125 scholarships per year in this category. Note here that the students having domicile of the following areas are eligible for this scholarship:

  • Balochistan
  • Gilgit-Baltistan
  • Azad Jammu & Kashmir
  • Tribal Areas of KP, Sindh, and Punjab.

The amount awarded is Rs. 100,000 per year and can be renewed each year.

3. Punjab Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) Scholarship

Most of the students of Punjab are already familiar with this scholarship. It caters to the students that have the domicile of Punjab only. A monthly aid of Rs. 9680 will be granted to the undergraduate student and a 100% tuition fee amount to the Master’s student.

These were the scholarships provided by external sources. However, the university has its own extensive network of scholarships for students that are meritorious and deserving. This includes:

1. Assistance Through Need-Based Financial Aid Application Form (NFAAF)

The process for applying for his scholarship begins when the student has taken a test for any program of the university and secured a seat in NUST.

After this, he/she will have to submit the NFAAF with all the required documents. Once the university verifies the documents, the candidate will be able to receive financial assistance.

2. Interest-Free Loans

Interest-free loans designed in collaboration with Ihsan Trust (IT) help the students pursue their educational careers without the burden of interest.

3. N-Centive Ph.D. Scholarship Programme

This is by far the best way to make your way through your Ph.D. program. Students selected under this scholarship can work as TA / RA / Lab Engr / Intern for the duration specified by NUST. Monthly aid and tuition waivers will be awarded in this regard.

4. ICT Endowment Fund Scholarship Scheme​

This scholarship is awarded to full-time Masters and Ph.D. students as monthly stipends of Rs. 18,000/- and Rs. 30,000/- respectively. Their academic progress is reported to the Financial Aid Office for issuing scholarships every semester.
