NUST was founded in 2012 by a young entrepreneur who recognized the need for a platform that could bridge the gap between investors, such as corporations and venture capital companies, and entrepreneurs. NUST provides such a platform, enabling entrepreneurs to access investors and their resources in order to launch businesses both locally and internationally. NUST focuses on a variety of investment opportunities, including those in renewable energy, technology, and real estate.
Founded in 1993 through a merger of several major technical schools, NUST is organized into faculties, with each faculty responsible for the education of students in their specific area of study. These faculties include the Faculties of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Applied Mathematics and Physics. All of these faculties are located on the main campus in a suburb north of Tashkent.
NUST offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in its various fields, as well as some post-graduate programs. The total number of students enrolled at NUST is 16,000, with nearly 20% coming from foreign countries.
The university has a long history of success, having graduated over 20000 students in the field of engineering and technology. A number of these graduates have gone on to become successful entrepreneurs or CEOs at many large companies in Central Asia and Russia, such as Gazprom Uzbekistan and Oshchadbank.
