But, if you do SSC and HSSC completely from outside Pakistan, and you stay abroad during your whole tenure, then you can apply for MDCAT to take admission in MBBS and BDS for foreign seats in Pakistan.
“No candidate shall be eligible for foreign quota seats in public and private medical and dental institutions under sub-regulations (1) and (2) unless he holds a permanent foreign nationality or dual nationality or overseas Pakistani students and who have physically studied and passed secondary certificate (SSC) and HSSC passing 12th grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan during his stay abroad and having a certificate from the institution last attended to this effect,” the official said, quoting the regulations.
The reason was that Pakistani students used to apply for foreign seats, and took admission in many public and private medical colleges.
On the 29th of October, MDCAT is going to be conducted again, but this decision will make parents of these students frustrated because the decision was made at the wrong time. It should be made in the next year.
Moreover, Lahore High Court ordered to retake the MDCAT due to the paper leak, the minister told to make changes in the regulations to make the MDCAT process more transparent.
