Do you know a wise man once said:

“a gentleman is not defined by the content of his wallet or the cut of his suit. He is defined by his manners and the content of his character.”

Being a Pakistani student, the word ‘etiquette’ may be new to you. It is all about your right behavior towards other people. In other words, you can also say good manners.

It seems old-fashioned, but the modern world has an extreme need for good manners because we are so much busy in our lives and we care what others feel and think.

We Pakistani believe that we know everything that’s why we do not need to obey anything.

Keep in mind, when you say you know everything, then it means you know nothing. It seems awkward, but it’s true.

Moreover, the worst part is that our society does not teach such etiquette. Our parents expect etiquette will be taught by the school or college teachers whereas teachers hope the parents will teach etiquette.

However, in reality, nobody shows.

Here I found the most needed etiquette for the Pakistani students that they need to learn to be successful in every part of their lives.

1. How to Talk to Your Father When He Is Angry

It’s the most common mistake we students make with our father. When he is angry, you need nothing to say, just be quiet. Let him say what he wants to say you.

Again I’m saying listen what he wants to say. Don’t assume these are just the words, try to feel the emotions and feelings behind each word.

Your parents are the only ones who really love you more than anything, but you do not know like a baby who wants to jump into the fire, but his parents know that he will die if we do not stop.

If you have made a mistake even you have failed in some subjects, let him speak. When you seem, he has said everything, then accept your mistakes. Moreover, tell your father, now you will not make. It’s critical!

When I was at SSC level, I used to answer every question when my father rebuked me. It made situations even worse; then I learned to be silent. Now it does not only create love but respect also.

My father forgave my mistakes that I made due to the listening skills.

You might be thinking what are the listening skills:

Listening is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages in the communication process. It is key to all effective communication.

Without the ability to listen effectively, messages are easily misunderstood. As a result, communication breaks down and the sender of the message can easily become frustrated or irritated.

The first time, it seems difficult. However, believe me, it is imperative even Allah has said, not even say an uff to your parents.

Just listen what your parents say, and do not interfere. Then see the magic and check your heart how much it feels contentment.

2. Friendship Etiquette – Make It Lasting

Students think making friends at school and college level is a waste of time, but in reality, you will cry once you have no friends at the university level.

Make worthy friends who inspire you when you pass. Support when you cry as well as in your studies. Moreover, some great memories of jokes must have things in your friendship.

Here are some tips that can help:

Give small gifts. You think that only expensive gifts should be given, but it is not true. Even a little things matter. You can observe your friends what he needs. Perhaps he needs a simple handsfree.

Call him at a restaurant for food. Even a plate of biryani works.

Appreciate your friend whatever he does good or gets an achievement. Appreciation can do a miracle and makes your friendship stronger.

3. Communications Etiquette

Do you know? According to the latest survey in Pakistan, 77% companies of Pakistan are not happy with the Pakistani graduates.

The reason?

Because they do not have what a successful company needs.

Graduates lack:

  • Verbal Communication (83.63%)
  • Positive Attitude (71.93%)
  • Team Working (64.91%)
  • Critical Thinking (59.06%)
  • Self Confidence (59.06%)
  • Written Communication (57.31%)
  • Drive & Resilience (57.31%)
  • Stress Tolerance (47.37%)
  • Adaptability (46.20%)
  • Time Management (45.61%)
  • Self-Awareness (45.03%) and Planning & Organizing (45.03%)
  • Integrity (43.86%)

The percentage shows how many graduates do not have the skills mentioned above.

It is seriously an alarming situation. You need to learn the above skills to be successful.

You might be thinking it is difficult or next to impossible because you have to read many books, but it is not true thanks to the modern era.

You must watch videos of Sandeep Maheshwari and Qasim Ali Shah, and you will learn all these skills. I have been following them more than a year, and they have changed my life.

4. Eating Etiquette

It is crucial. We think the way we eat is fine to everyone, but many students seriously do not know eating manners, table manners, and classroom manners.

These manners show your background; it is the reason these things are taught in the most expensive schools and colleges only.

However, you can learn for free on Youtube. Here you can watch a video on Table Manners.

Just Google and find videos on Youtube, these two are your best friends.

Also never criticize your home-made meal as it’s common in our society we criticize what the meal is made at our home.

You should not do it. Whatever is cooked, eat happily. You can request your mom what you want to eat on a specific day, or if you’re not hungry, you can eat later.

But never criticize, it’s the bad habit of bad students.

5. Respect Your Teacher

In the modern world, we respect a few people from the hearts because we think it is okay to mock the teachers.

6. Your Classmates Deserve Your Respect and Support

If you want to stay in the hearts of other students, you have to respect your classmates and provide proper support.

If you go to KIPS, find the classmate who can’t afford KIPS because he is not going. Ask him either he needs the help of any kind.

The person will keep you remember in his prayers. Help him anyway. You should give support to the average students too because they can be useful to the country if they are guided by the people like you.

7. Take Responsibility for Your Education

Spend some hours in thinking what your father has done to you. Are you wasting his money because you’re not fulfilling his dreams?

Think, can you earn the same amount of money and can you study by yourself?

If not, then why not to make your father proud.

I am not saying you should study all the time. Just 2 to 4 hours are enough at SSC level provided you study with full concentration and focus, not with your smartphone.

8. Thank You – 90% Students Don’t Understand the Etiquette

When you said the last time, thank you for your classmate or friend?

Did you ever thank you when your classmate send the pictures of notes in the Whatsapp group?

These small things matter a lot and make you lovely in the hearts of other people.

Your respect will not reduce if you say thank you rather it will increase.
