Those of you who wish to apply for the MDCAT entrance exam, but don’t know how to because it is your first time. Then don’t worry!
We are here to give you all the important details about the MDCAT application process and fees as well as the eligibility criteria.
MDCAT is the entrance exam for the top medical and dental colleges of Punjab. This test is conducted every year by the University of Health Sciences (UHS).
Eligibility Criteria For MDCAT
Before applying for the MDCAT exam, the candidates need to keep in mind that they can apply on only one identity card number for Pakistani students or the passport number in the case of foreign students.
The aspirants should have a domicile made of any of the districts of the Punjab province or of the Federal Territory of Islamabad.
There is no restriction against foreign students to apply for the MDCAT exam, as long as they have the eligible documents.
The candidates should submit their Intermediate result certificates (HSSC/F.Sc in Pre-medical or equivalent certificate).
Applying students with 70% or more unadjusted marks in their final Intermediate exams are eligible to apply for MDCAT.
However, the aspirants awaiting results of Part 2 of Intermediate exams, can also apply if they are confident that they can achieve 70% or more consolidated marks.
Application Process
The candidates can fill their registration forms online at https://www.bop.com.pk/mdcat-2020.
It is advisable for candidates to fill this online application via a Personal Computer (PC) or a laptop instead of mobile phones.
Along with the application form, the candidates should attach their colored pictures in the soft form. These pictures should not be less than about 2 months old and should be less than or of a 2 MB file.
When you have filled out all your academic and personal details, you should make sure that your information is correct before pressing the click icon. This is because, after the submission of the online form, your details cannot be edited again.
After cross-checking and clicking on the ‘Preview’ and ‘Submit’ buttons, the ‘Candidate Roll Number’ will be generated. This will be in the form of ‘UHS-123456789’.
You can then take out a print of the application form. This printed application form is to be submitted at any branch of the ‘Bank of Punjab’, who will stamp and return the form to the candidate.
A registration fee of PKR 1,300/- is to be submitted along with the application form at the bank. This is a non-refundable fee.
The candidates will receive their ‘admittance card’ through SMS service and e-mail along with their roll number and test center details. This information would be received 72 hours after payment of the registration fee and application form submission.
The candidates should print this admittance card and bring it with themselves at the test centers when arriving for the MDCAT entrance exam.
Required Documents
With the application form, you would need to submit a copy of the domicile certificate, a copy of the computerized CNIC or B-form issued by the Nadra.
You are required to attach a copy of your result certificates of the Matric/equivalence certificate and your result certificate of the HSSC/equivalence certificate of both Part 1 and 2.
However, the result awaiting candidates can also attach their result certificate of Part 1 only.
Along with these documents, the candidate is required to attach his/her colored picture in the soft form, which should be less than or of a 2 MB file.
