The University of Management and Technology (UMT) was elevated from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) in 2004. Initially, the ILM was formed in 1990.
Located in Johar Town, Lahore UMT is one of the finest degree-awarding private university that has been ranked high by the HEC in the General category.
It offers over 125+ programs at various stages of Undergraduate, Graduate, and Postgraduate.
Admission at UMT
- Admissions open every year for Fall and Spring semesters after the announcement in the leading national newspapers.
- You can visit the University to get the admission kit and the prospectus for Rupees 1,500.
- However, if you are unable to physically visit the University, you can send in a bank draft of Rupees 2,000 to get the admission kit.
- You can apply both manually and online at UMT.
- To apply online, you have to visit the official webpage of UMT at https://onlineadmissions.umt.edu.pk/. Register yourself here.
- Fill in all the required personal and academic information.
- Submit the admission application processing fee of Rs. 1,500/- at the mentioned account/branch of HBL.
- Upload the scanned copy of the fee deposit slip and send it in your application.
- Take out a printout of the sent application form and bring it to the Office of Admission at UMT along with all your required attested documents.
- Take the UMT entry test and appear in the interview round (if called).
- If you have scored 60% or more marks in your Intermediate (Part 1 and 2), then you will be exempted from the UMT entry test except for the programs of engineering, health sciences, and BS AMET.
Eligibility Criteria for UMT
Note: The eligibility criteria may vary from program to program.
For Undergraduate Programs:
- A minimum of 45 to 50% marks in Intermediate level for programs of non-engineering.
- Have to pass the UMT entry test with a minimum of 50 scores.
- No 3rd division marks in Matriculation or O-Level.
- At least 12 years of formal education.
- For Undergraduate Programs of Engineering, you should have a minimum of 60% marks at the Intermediate level.
For Master Programs (MA/MSc):
- At least 14 years of relevant formal education.
- Should have a minimum of 50 scores in the UMT Entry Test.
- No 3rd division marks in the previous education.
- Should have a minimum of 45% marks in the annual system or 2.0 out of 4.0 CGPA in the semester system of Bachelor’s degree.
For Graduate Programs (MS/Phil):
- At least 16 years of relevant formal education.
- A minimum of 50% marks or 2.5 out of 4.0 CGPA in the previous degree.
- Should have UMT graduate admission test/NTS GAT (General) with a minimum score of 50.
For Ph.D. Programs:
- Should 18 years of formal relevant education.
- Should have a minimum of 3.0 out of 4.0 CGPA with 24 credit hours and a thesis of 06 credit hours.
- Should have a minimum of CGRE with a 60th % or NTS GAT (Subject) with a minimum score of 60.
