And fortunately/unfortunately are in need of an Equivalence degree?

We have got you pal! In this document, we will be telling you about the simple steps to follow to get your equivalence certificate from Higher Education System HEC.

Follow us till the end and make your work done in the simplest ways possible.

Here is a detailed procedure with pictures (for your convenience) for application and submission of application form Foreign Equivalence, Local Equivalence and Deeni Asnaad.

Steps to Get Equivalence Certificate from HEC

HEC is one of the most prestigious and well reputed universities across Pakistan. A certificate from HEC is a great asset for students to get admission in best universities of the world. Students who have passed bachelor level from HEC will get preference over other candidates in admissions process in international universities. A certificate from HEC will increase your rating as a candidate and chances of getting admission in foreign universities.

Certificate from HEC pakistan

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is a statutory and autonomous organization, established by the Higher Education Commission Act, 2067. The commission is responsible for the quality assurance, coordination, regulation and promotion of higher education in Pakistan.

The commission was established by the act of parliament, with the purpose to meet the challenges of globalization as well as help Pakistan to achieve sustainable development through an educated and competent workforce. The commission has been given the mandate to:

1. develop policies and coordinate activities for improvement in the standard of higher education;

2. promote research, innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education;

3. encourage international collaboration among universities, research organizations and industry through exchange of faculty members and students;

These are the four simple steps to get Equivalence Certificate, So gear up to get your online application form from http://des.hec.gov.pk

Step 1

Sign In/ Sign Up to your HEC User Profile account. If you do not have an HEC User Profile then Sign Up by clicking on the above-mentioned bubble and if you own account, then Sign In to your account.

Provide complete and authentic educational details starting from Matriculation

Select the documents for which you require Equivalence certificate

Print the application

  • Follow the instructions for further processing and details

Required documents

  • After filling the online form, you need to have a copy of the degree (for which you have applied for equivalence). In case, your degree is not in the English language, you need its translation from NUML or the concerned Embassy/ University.
  • You also need a copy of Transcript (year-wise), Diploma Supplement, Graduation Statement, or Record of study that contains your dates of admission and completion of the degree. In case, your degree is not in the English language, you need its translation from NUML or the concerned Embassy/ University.
  • Next, you need to have a copy of a passport that contains your entry and exit date in the respective country for study duration only
  • In the end, copy of your CNIC

Equivalence fee

So now you must be concerned about the equivalence fee. For your information, the equivalence fee for each degree/ diploma is PKR 5000/- and it is NON- REFUNDABLE. You can pay it through a bank draft or pay the order in favor of the Director (Finance), HEC, Islamabad.

Important notes

  • You need to present all the above mentioned original documents for endorsement “Seen Original And Verified” from HEC Head Office or HEC Regional Centre, Lahore/ Quetta/ Peshawar/ Karachi.
  • According to the policy, for getting the equivalence of degrees/ diplomas, it is necessary for the applicants to provide verification on the genuineness of the degrees/ diplomas from their respective universities, directly to HEC.
  • Applicants can provide verification on the genuineness of degrees/ diplomas through a sealed envelope from University, directly to HEC. (OR)
  • Applicants can provide verification on the genuineness of degrees/ diplomas through direct fax from university to +9251-90400902. (OR)
  • Applicants can provide verification on the genuineness of degrees/ diplomas through email from university, directly to HEC at [email protected].
  • While writing to university, do not forget to mention your Application ID.

For LOCAL Degree Equivalence

In case you want equivalence for a local degree, follow the following procedure after filling the application form (E-01) on http://des.hec.gov.pk

Required Documents

  • You need to have an original and photocopy of each diploma/ degree (from Diploma/ Graduation onwards) with your CNIC and application processing fee as a bank draft.
  • You also need a copy of Transcript (year-wise) /DMCs/ Result Cards that contain your dates of admission and completion of the degree and duration of each semester/ term.
  • In the case of a professional degree/ diploma, you need to have proof of a concerned professional body.

Equivalence fee

The equivalence fee for local degrees/ diploma is PKR 2000/- and it is NON- REFUNDABLE.

Important note

  • You need to present all the above mentioned original documents for endorsement “Seen Original And Verified” from HEC Head Office or HEC Regional Centre, Lahore/ Quetta/ Peshawar/ Karachi at the time of submission of application.

For DEENI ASNAD Equivalence Certificate

In case you want equivalence for a local degree, follow the following procedure after filling the application form (E-02) on http://des.hec.gov.pk (duly signed and verified by concerned Madaris Nazim-e-Ala for Deeni Asnad).

Documents Required

  • You need to have a photocopy of each Sanad/ Kashful Darajat duly signed by concerned Madaris Nazim-e-Ala.
  • You need to have a photocopy of each Sanad/ Kashful Darajat (year- wise) that contains your dates of admission and completion of the degree and duration of each semester/ term.
  • Also, attestation of Sanvia Amaaa and Sanvia Khasa from IBCC
  • Lastly, copy your CNIC or passport (if you are a foreigner).

Important note

  • You need to present all the above mentioned original documents for endorsement “Seen Original And Verified” from HEC Head Office or HEC Regional Centre, Lahore/ Quetta/ Peshawar/ Karachi at the time of submission of application.

The following table contains the fee for Equivalence degree:-

How to deposit a fee?

The Equivalence fee can be deposited through:-

  • In cash at HEC’s Finance Division in Islamabad
  • A bank draft
  • A Pay Order made out to the Director General (Finance), HEC, Islamabad
